Home Visiting Service

Our Home Visiting Service operates in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Enfield, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond. We provide a unique service for people who are blind, partially sighted and deaf/blind to assist, support and enable them to continue to live independently in their own homes, complimenting the work carried out by the Rehabilitation Officers and other professionals.

Often our clients live alone or feel isolated and would simply like befriending, whilst others require more practical assistance. Our staff and trained volunteers (who are required to undertake DBS checks) provide support in the form of help with daily living such as assistance with reading the post, colour coordinating clothes, visiting friends, writing letters, outings, shopping and visits to the GP. Such tasks can become quite impossible for someone who is blind or partially sighted without a “good” pair of eyes to help. Additionally for many, the loss of sight can result in a loss of confidence, isolation and depression.

If you are a visually impaired person and would like to be visited at home, or know of someone who may need our help, please contact the Borough Coordinator for your area, or call our Head Office on 020 8423 5141.
