Our Mobile Advice Unit has been operational for a couple of months, visiting a variety of locations across most of our boroughs. It has generated a huge amount of interest in a very short space of time and, thanks largely to the efforts of Alex Roy, we are already establishing regular venues including hospitals and supermarkets. As we begin to develop a stable schedule we will ensure that this is widely publicised so that people are aware of when it will be in their area. We are also working to engage local rehab teams, Eye Clinics and other charities and organisations to ensure we reach as many people as possible.
The main aims of the mobile unit are to provide more accessible advice and information to visually impaired people while raising awareness of visual impairment and eye health among the general public. The unit also allows us to raise general awareness of the support services offered by MAB and publicise volunteering opportunities with MAB.
If you wish to visit the mobile unit when it is next in your area, keep an eye on our Events page for future dates and locations. If you need further details about the Mobile Unit or wish to suggest events/locations where its presence may be beneficial then please contact Alex (firstname.lastname@example.org) or our Head Office on 020 8423 5141.
