    Trustees

Meet our committed trustees who volunteer their time and expertise to support our charity. We are immensely grateful for their dedication..

    Raj Mehta
    Chair of Board of Trustees
Raj joined MAB in 2015. He retired from BP several years ago, having held senior leadership positions in IT and procurement. Since retiring, Raj has been pursuing his passion in furthering health matters and promoting the capabilities of disabled people, specifically sight-impaired individuals. Blind himself most of his life, Raj brings a unique and diverse perspective to the many roles he currently holds within the health, education and voluntary sectors, serving as advisor, non-executive director and trustee.
    Bharat Hindocha
Vice Chair of Board of Trustees
Bharat joined MAB in 2013. He sold his Chartered Accountancy practice in January 2021, after running it since 1976. Bharat was Founding Treasurer and remains Treasurer of Lions Club of London Golders Green. He is a past president of the club, and organises the Golf days. Money collections from members are regularly donated to MAB. Over the years, Bharat has actively supported MAB’s bookkeepers, auditors and Chief Executives whenever help was needed, and continues to do so. Having retired from his accountancy practice, Bharat still offers financial consultancy to several clients, when not spending time with his grandchildren or playing golf.

Nigel is a corporate technology solicitor who worked in international businesses for 30 years and has now started his own legal consultancy alongside charitable and pro bono roles. He joined MAB in March 2024. He is passionate about ED&I, founding an award-winning ED&I programme at his last employer. In addition to MAB, he is a Trustee at the Mayhew (themayhew.org), an animal welfare charity in north London, a member of the Ethics Committee of the Moorfields/UCL Biobank, and works on the D&I Committee of the Society for Computers and Law.
    Rachelle Goldberg

As a professional musician and educator, I serve as a Freeman of the City of London and hold positions as Liveryman and Court Steward for the Worshipful Company of Musicians, as well as Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Co-Educators. My community leadership experience includes serving as President of both the Rotary Club of Hounslow and Northwick Park. I joined the board of trustees in 2021, bringing expertise in music and community service. Currently, I volunteer as a Trustee for Harrow Foodbank and at St Luke's Hospice, working to support our community. I'm committed to applying these diverse experiences to help those affected by sight loss and look forward to contributing alongside my fellow trustees.
